When do I need a contract and when do I need a requisition? Which comes first?

In general, if your purchase requires a requisition, that will come first. However, if you are using a standard university contract template and have a valid Waiver of Competitive memo , the contract can be reviewed and routed for signature first by submitting it through the Procurement Contract Portal.

Contact Procurement (add link to Hays’ contact information) if unsure

When in doubt, contact Procurement Contract Services.
