A BTE fund is a type of restricted fund. The main difference between a BTE fund and a regular restricted fund is that spending is not permitted from a BTE fund. After a BTE fund has completed building to the university endowment minimum or the minimum set by the donor, the endowment follows the approved spending policy.
In contrast, a regular restricted fund can be spent at any time in accordance with the donor specified purpose.
