Do honorariums need to go through Procurement Services?

An honorarium is considered a payment or reward where the primary interest is to confer distinction on, or to symbolize respect, esteem, or admiration for the recipient.

Any payment of $5,000 or above must be submitted on a requisition. Therefore, if the honorarium exceeds $5,000, it must go through Procurement Services approval.

Honorariums less than $5,000 are paid on a voucher payment.
