Can equipment be located in a facility not owned by the University?

Equipment can be located in a facility not owned by the University, as long as the location code has been established as part of the rental or lease of a building or room.

If an asset is temporarily located in the field or off-site location, a CA-3 Form, Storage of Equipment on Privately Owned/Leased Premises should be prepared by the department and submitted to the Asset Management Team to generate the creation of a location code and document it in the Asset Management System.
